Clear Minds, Full Hearts
It got into my head that I needed a night off.
The past weeks had been busy with all sorts of things, and now that most of it was finally done, the timing worked out perfectly: it was Thursday.
I know, most people live for the weekend. Thank God It’s Friday and all that. I get it. But Thursdays have become sacred to me too. I could tell you about the Boiler Room again, although I’ve probably done that more times than I can count. I could tell you that Xoch was on the decks, keeping the room moving from the first beat to the last. I could tell you that we danced a little, grinded a little, flirted a little, and spent a few hours forgetting about everything outside those walls.
What was different this time was that I didn’t need anything extra. No shortcuts, no additions, no enhancements. Just music, people, conversation, and a clear head. And it was enough.
I loved seeing familiar faces. Friends. The regulars. The people you don’t really know but somehow always end up sharing a dance floor with. A room full of beautiful people doing what we always do on a Thursday night.
For a few hours there was nowhere else I needed to be.
It’s what I live for.
Thank God we have Thursdays.
