Developing nicely

So, I got a new camera.

Not that I needed one for most occasions. I mean, you’ve seen my pictures. But I did need one for the Boiler Room.

That place, and the main Berghain above it, have these old industrial lights hanging around everywhere. Sure, they add to the atmosphere, but move an inch into a different corner and suddenly you’ve stepped into a whole different reality. Great for a club. Slightly less great when you’re trying to make people look as gorgeous as they actually are.

So this new camera is especially for places like that, and what it does is painfully simple: it lets me switch to black and white whenever I think that does the image, and most of all the gorgeous people in it, the most justice.

That’s it. That’s the entire camera PSA.

The Boiler Room itself was packed again. I was slightly worried after last week, but I also knew Nina would make sure the place got hotter than hot. Her last appearance at Valmoor, at the Red Rabbit, was easily one of the better ones I’ve seen this year. She knows how to draw a crowd and, more importantly, how to keep it there.

Apart from that, it was really just your regular great Thursday night.

It was lovely catching up with some old friends. Nando, for instance, who I’ve been seeing around more often lately. I originally met him a while ago in a completely different setting, but he told me he’s recently started living by The List and likes it a lot.

Great guy.

Obviously an even greater guy after telling me that. :)

Serana and I also had a chat. She’s apparently far more observant about these matters than I am, because she figured out our birthdays are really close together. She’s now urging me to throw one big party together.

Considering I’m one of those people who remains firmly convinced that if I invite everyone to a party, absolutely no one will show up, this may actually be a very good idea. At least this way, if nobody comes, I can blame her.

So that was mostly my regular Thursday night.

Although, looking through the pictures and seeing who I was surrounded by, there really wasn’t much regular about it.

We make each other look so damn good.
