I Am Decent

I already told you about the last part of my Saturday, but that was later. Much later. The part where things escalated, a getaway car became necessary and somehow we ended up partying until Dusk turned into Dawn.

Before any of that went spectacularly wrong, I actually had a plan. Three places: Sojourn, NITE and Afterneath. First, Sojourn.

I hadn’t been there for a while and, for a Saturday night, it really is a great opener. It’s somewhere you dress up for. You walk in after doing your hair, your makeup is exactly where it belongs and, importantly, you’re still wearing knickers. I like that.

I like feeling decent.

Well, heck. I am decent. You can judge me all you want. I know who I am.

I could only stay for Kastor’s set, but he gave the night the start I needed. Then Sahra and Lola arrived, smiles were exchanged and, shortly afterwards, so were some white powder and colourful pills.

You know. Decent girl stuff.

Unbeknownst to me, this was exactly the sort of behaviour that would get me into trouble later that night.

The problem is that the longer you do these things, the more completely normal they become. At first you’re looking over your shoulder, finding some dark corner, checking whether anyone is watching or disappearing into a toilet stall.

Eventually you’re apparently just standing around at Sojourn handing things to beautiful women while dressed nicely. Standards slip.

Not that I’d particularly object to finding myself in a toilet stall with Lola or Sahra. Or Lola and Sahra.

Anyway.

After Sojourn I went home for a quick change, because the woman casually exchanging pills five minutes earlier still has standards about wearing the same outfit to two clubs.

Then: NITE.

This was their first event at the new place, so expectations were high. And fuck, it looked good.

You’ll mostly have to trust me on that.

Because I managed to sneak in exactly three pictures during the couple of minutes when the entire place was blue and I could work my camere they way I like it to. Still, new NITE felt like NITE. Dark, bright, crowded, gorgeous and familiar despite everything around us having changed.

And by this point Saturday had started gathering momentum. Sojourn had given me a very civilised beginning, NITE had turned the effects on and I still had Afterneath ahead of me.

My hair was still done, my makeup was mostly where it belonged and, as far as I remember, I was still wearing knickers.

Honestly, things were going really well.
