Queer Eye For The Clueless Girl

I sometimes feel like things are so obvious that everyone around me got the message that I somehow missed. Maybe I need more sleep, maybe I've enjoyed a little too much of life's finer offerings. Whatever the cause, my ability to connect obvious dots seems to be deteriorating. Fortunately, I still have my looks, which should comfortably compensate until the day simple arithmetic finally defeats me.

When the latest invite for Valmoor landed in my inbox, it read: Drag Me To Berghain. My first thought was simple: yes, but why drag me? At this point I suspect there is a visible trail worn into the concrete from how often I walk into the place voluntarily.

The second clue should probably have been the words queer techno. Had I been slightly less oblivious, I might have realized what was coming. Pride season had already started around us, something I had literally mentioned before, yet somehow I still managed not to connect the dots until the very last moment.

Once realization finally struck, a suitable outfit was located online, expedited directly into my closet, and put into service immediately. Within minutes I looked like someone who had known about the theme for weeks and had carefully planned every detail.

As you can see, plenty of people had actually known what was going on and had come better prepared. Pride colours, creative looks, bold statements, and lots of personality to light up the entire region. Meanwhile, I was just pleased I had figured it out before walking through the door.

Not my strongest display of situational awareness, perhaps. Still, it turned out to be a fantastic night.
