Something In The Ratio
How was your weekend? Mine keep refusing to slow down, which I want to be clear is not a complaint so much as a scheduling failure. There are sets to attend, events to show up for, performances that deserve an actual audience and not just a promise. I am trying. I am also, historically, not great at calendars.
So I hopped. A few venues, a few familiar faces turning up in rooms I did not expect them at, and a few spots I ended up at more by instinct than by plan. Bardeco was on my Sunday list however.
I like Bardeco. I've said it before and I'll keep saying it. It's spacious in a way that doesn't feel empty. The music sits at the right volume, loud enough to feel it, not so loud you lose the room. And the bar is a proper bar, which matters more than people admit.
There is also, and I want to be responsible about how I say this, a notably high ratio of attractive men. I'm not suggesting the women aren't holding it together, they are. I just notice what I notice.
I've been doing this long enough to know when a room is stacked and Bardeco is consistently, almost suspiciously, stacked.
You don't have to take my word for it. I brought photos.
