The perfect photo spot doesn't exi...

I have been inside Valmoor many times and I have never once looked at the outside of it. That changed last Thursday. After KLUBNACHT wound down I walked downstairs with my friend Taya to show her the route from the dancefloor to the boiler room. We got her there, and then instead of splitting off we just kept walking. Around the building, past things I had apparently been ignoring for months, and eventually down to ground level into Forgotten.

I should mention I had put the Barcelona filter on my lens earlier. The red light in Valmoor is beautiful but it will ruin an entire card of photos if you let it, so I had adjusted not long before. I still had it on when we turned a corner and there was a waterfall. I actually gasped.

Taya told me later she thought something had gone wrong. Medically. But then I showed her what I was seeing through the lens and we both just stood there for a minute. Without that filter the whole thing would have been a wash. I would have walked past it, gone home, and never known it existed. That part I am choosing not to think about.

One of Taya's shots is below. It is better than mine, which I am fine with.

If you need a location for an epic shot with a friend, a lover or whatnot, go to Valmoor and walk outside after the music stops. Bring someone. Bring a Barcelona filter. Turn the corners towards the waterfall and then show me what you get.

Taya Karpenko has a Flickr page that’s been excellent for years. You should go and check it out.

You can explore Forgotten and find this gem on your own. Or, if patience isn’t your thing, tell your Uber to go here:
