Bad Fortnight, Good Thursday
The last two weeks on the grid have been difficult. I won't go into it. But Thursday at Valmoor was circled on my calendar and I needed it. I landed in the Boiler Room and felt it immediately. That build does something. You stop noticing after enough visits, the way you stop noticing good bone structure on someone you see more often, but it's still there. The space just works. DeLite, Berghain, the Boiler Room, all of it. I was happy to be back.
The crowd was coming in as I arrived. That's the thing about Valmoor, people don't just show up. They.Show.Up. The numbers are one thing but the quality is something else. The effort people put into how they present themselves, I never take it for granted. All that creativity in one room. It's a lot to take in.
I had my camera. Of course I had my camera. I shot more than usual. I needed to. The music helped. DJ Thirteen was on the decks, another debut in the Boiler Room, and the team continues to have an eye for this. They know who to put up there. She was awesome.
The whole night was exceptional, actually, which is what I needed it to be.
The pictures explain enough. I was there. I pointed. I shot. The music was great and the people were too. That's the whole story.
