A Mere 10
I have people who can fix me up.
And no, I don't mean with pills and other happy stuff, and I need those too. No, I'm talking about people who can actually take me from a mere 10 back to the atmospheric heights where my beauty normally resides. Not that it's particularly difficult, of course. When you're starting with perfection, it's really just a matter of putting everything back where it belongs.
So, barely a day after coming down in a helicopter crash, which many of you expressed your concerns about, and my team would like to thank you for that, I was already back to my usual fabulous self.
And just in time for another social appearance!
Now, I still had some trouble moving, and with Toni playing at The Boiler Room on Thursday which would certainly demand a lot of me, I thought it would be wise to take things a little easier. So I chose the Blue Note, where I could limit myself to gently swaying my hips rather than putting them through their usual demanding routine. An unusual occurrence in just about every possible context, I know, but I think I managed rather well.
And as if that wasn't soothing enough, DJ Arwen made the evening even better with what was obviously a carefully selected collection of music, making sure we got the very best versions of everything she played. Exactly what a recovering woman of my standing deserves.
Now, I can almost hear you asking.
But Doreen, surely something happened? You crashed a helicopter only yesterday. You regularly drag people down into that dark basement of yours to indulge in activities we probably shouldn't discuss in polite company. You didn't just go to a club, listen to some music and behave yourself?
Well, yes. That's precisely what I did.
I know. Shocking. But sometimes things really are just what they are. No drama, no scandal, no unexpected adventures, no helicopters falling out of the sky. Sometimes life really is that simple.
Black and white, you might say.
