Regular Maintenance
Do you remember that car meet I went to the other day, where I performed what I believe was a very thorough suspension test?Apparently that did not go unnoticed, because shortly afterwards, another invitation involving cars landed in my lap.
This time Yuki was opening her garage at Cyber Town in Skyhigh.
Now, for most of us, somebody opening their garage isn’t necessarily cause for celebration. You go in for a quick checkup, perhaps get the oil changed, someone tells you a noise you’ve been ignoring for six months is actually very expensive and you leave with a payment plan.
At Yuki’s, apparently, things work a little differently. She pulled out everything. Cars everywhere, naturally. Most of them with their headlights on full blast, which looked spectacular and also made me curse at my camera repeatedly throughout the night.
Seriously, people. You’re parked. Turn them off.
Then there was a full deck set up for Lili and Invad3r, because as it turns out changing oil without techno is how lesser garages operate. Throw all of that together and suddenly you don’t have a garage opening anymore. You have a party.
And a pretty crazy one at that.
It felt a little like two of Yuki’s worlds had collided. Cars on one side, nightlife on the other, with everybody happily moving around somewhere in between. But whichever way you looked at it, her passion for all things automotive was rather hard to miss.
Which is useful information, because I think I’ve found a new address for my regular checkups.
Whenever that little light on my dashboard comes on, I’ll just make my way over to Yuki’s. These people clearly know what they’re doing with cars and apparently you get Lili and Invad3r while you wait.
That’s considerably better than stale coffee and a three-year-old magazine. I’m sold.
Just one thing.
Turn off the fucking headlights when you’re not driving.
We’re not deer.
