The Wrong Button

So, a few weeks ago I walked into Vault 404. When I did, I couldn't remember if I'd been there before. I probably had, but not every night makes it to the blog and my memory can be hazy at best when I wake up. Sometimes that's probably for the better.

That night was different, though. I met Fitu and DEL, great guys and genuinely into the club, the music and the line-up. I really appreciate it when that happens. You can tell when people aren't just running a venue but actually give a fuck about what's happening inside it, and that makes all the difference. So yes, the vibe was perfect.

I wanted to go back sooner, but things got in the way for a bit. Other invitations. Men. I needed to shop. I had to sit down with my accountant and explain to him, once again, that his primary responsibility is not fucking up my life. I've been busy.

I finally made it back last weekend, although I was late. Fashionably late sounds better, but at some point even I have to admit that late is just late. So I only managed to catch Dandy's set. Great as always, but it means Sakura and Fonic are still on my list. I'll have to come back for them another time.

Which brings me to the pictures.

Usually, at some point during the night, I ask someone to take my picture. I set the camera correctly first, obviously, and then hand it to someone who looks intelligent enough to press a button without accidentally changing the aperture, deleting my entire memory card or calling emergency services.

Sometimes I forget to do this, and then you have to make it through an entire blog post without seeing me. I've heard this is disappointing to some of you, and I completely understand. I know I'm good to look at. I'm not going to pretend otherwise just to make everyone else feel better.

Which is why I feel I need to explain why there's no picture of me being beautiful at the bottom of this page. Because this time, I did not forget. I had my camera ready and spotted a cute guy, so I asked if he'd be so kind.

Apparently, he misunderstood what exactly I was asking him to do.

Before I realised there had been a slight communication problem, we'd somehow ended up on the other side of that Employees Only door. I suppose at that point I could have clarified the misunderstanding, but it seemed rude to interrupt. And, well.

By the time we came back out, I really wasn't looking my best for a picture anymore. So you'll have to take a rain check on that.

I cashed mine in.
