Tips, Tricks & Boiler Rooms

It's good to be on home ground. The Boiler Room feels like that by now. I've spent so much time there that I know almost every corner suitable for quickly doing a line, grabbing a pill, having something shoved inside me, or occasionally just standing around behaving like a well-behaving member of society. It's kind of my happy place.

Yesterday, though, it was extra special. Tiptoe was celebrating the day she landed among us, which really is something we should all celebrate, because, like quite a few people around me, she seems to have her cute little hands in absolutely everything. Events, people, places, communities. You turn around and somehow Tips has been involved.

So for that reason, there was a room.

Thecla had just built an entire room for Tips, which briefly confused me because Thecs runs The Continental and this room was in Valmoor, but it seems geography stops being relevant when you're part of a power couple. Also, this isn't about me.

One by one, we walked into the room to tell Tips what she meant to us. It was sweet, personal and genuinely rather special. And of course it had all been arranged by that woman I wrote about yesterday. They're married, you see. It’s one of those power couples you read about in the newspapers. Or, if newspapers are an unfamiliar concept, watch on E! And if E! doesn't ring a bell either, I'm sure there's a TikTok juice channel explaining their entire relationship in seventeen aggressively edited parts.

The Boiler Room itself was absolutely packed. I mean packed. It took me a good while just to work out who had made their way inside, but once my eyes finally did what they’re supposed to do, out came the camera because it looked like everyone had received the same briefing: be fucking fabulous.

I sometimes wonder whether people dress like that because they're secretly hoping my lens will eventually turn in their direction. But that's Vanity speaking, of course, and she has a rather inflated sense of her own importance. Which is why I feel we’re related.

Still. Look at these people.

You might think that after yesterday the festivities would finally be coming to an end, but you'd be very, very wrong.

Because today the Friendship Valley Music Festival kicks off, or FVMF, as you've probably seen it mentioned everywhere by now. This is its twelfth iteration, and this year it also celebrates ten years of the Hedonism group. And if you know anything about the Hedos, you'll know that they're remarkably uncomplicated about who gets to join the fun.

Anyone. Anything. Bring enthusiasm.

So before you make it all the way to the bottom of this page, admired everyone who made it in front of my camera and finally reached that picture of me, which, yes, I remembered this time, let me show you exactly why you should clear your calendar if you haven't already.

Maybe we'll run into each other at https://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Ribeata/181/135/44

Bring me something nice.
I'm easy like that.
